Herbalife a leading global nutrition company, announced the public launch of its newest skin care line Herbalife SKIN. The paraben-free, sulfate-free, dermatologist and ophthalmologist-tested line of botanically-based products combine nature, nutrition and science.
Herbalife SKIN was launched in a spa/breakfast event held at the global nutrition company’s corporate headquarters in Los Angeles. Several Latina teens, who are scholarship recipients from A Place Called Home (APCH), a non-profit community based organization, joined actress/hip hop artist Yahira “Flakiss” Garcia, actress Erika Ringor, and TV personalities Patricia López of ABC 7 and Dr. Antonio Roy of Unimás, for a demonstration of the products.
The Herbalife SKIN line is comprised of 10 new products, which include a Soothing Aloe Cleanser, Polishing Citrus Cleanser, Energizing Herbal Toner, Line Minimizing Serum, Firming Eye Gel, Hydrating Eye Cream, Daily Glow Moisturizer, Replenishing Night Cream, Instant Reveal Berry Scrub and Purifying Mint Clay Mask.
Herbalife SKIN products feature an optimum blend of Vitamin B3 and antioxidant Vitamins C and E, and Aloe Vera. The majority of the line is clinically tested, and has not been tested on animals; all products are unisex and are formulated with fruit extracts, essential oils, plant enzymes, chamomile, and antioxidant vitamins, and are suitable for all skin types, with the exception of two cleansers: Soothing Aloe Cleanser, which is for normal to dry skin and the Polishing Citrus Cleanser, which is for normal to oily skin. A Protective Moisturizer SPF 30 is slated to launch in the summer of 2014 to offer broad-spectrum sun protection.
Herbalife SKIN also offers three skin care programs, Basic, Advanced or Ultimate, which combine products from the range to address specific skin care concerns and deliver tailored results.
As part of its ongoing community involvement and partnership with A Place Called Home through the Casa Herbalife program, Herbalife pampered several Latina teens who are scholarship recipients from the community based organization, at the spa and breakfast day, where they had an opportunity to learn about skin care essentials and also interact with Herbalife’s skin care experts, executives and Hollywood celebrities such as Latin hip-hop artist Yahira “Flakiss” Garcia, lead villain in Jake Gyllenhaal’s blockbuster hit “End of Watch:” actress Erika Ringor from Spike Lee's "Love & Basketball", R. Kelly's "Trapped in the Closet" and “Law & Order LA;" and celebrity makeup artist Fabiola Mercado, whose list of clients include Esai Morales, Wilmer Valderrama, Bill Bellamy, model Nicole Murphy, and ESPN Sport Center.
“A Place Called Home is grateful and honored to partner with Herbalife. From the financial support Herbalife provides to our health and nutrition program, to the hundreds of volunteer hours Herbalife employees and members put in each year, our shared values and dedication are making a difference in the lives of youth and families in South Central Los Angeles,” said Scott Culbertson, associate director, APCH.
