The dozen companies, which are all part of the Sacramento business networking group uLink Network, have created a contest to give one local company a $50,000 marketing makeover.
The campaign called Marketing Makeover was designed to give back to the community while also showcasing their services, according to a news release from the network.
“The business that is chosen for the Marketing Makeover will receive tremendous support from a talented bunch of professionals, and our team gets the satisfaction of performing a job well done,” Rochelle Barcellona said in the news release. She’s president of marketing firm Barcellona Inc. and is heading up the campaign.
The group modeled its campaign after “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”
Local companies will be encouraged to apply. Once the list is narrowed to businesses that best fit the criteria, remaining applicants will be asked to submit a short video on why they deserve to be chosen. Then online voters will pick the winner. The winner of Marketing Makeover will be announced Oct. 21.
“I feel that this is a great opportunity for our members to showcase their work, and to also help a deserving local business in the process,” Adam Frick, co-head of the venture and uLink chief technology officer, said in the news release.
“Our ideal candidate is a Sacramento area company that would like to grow, but is held back by a lack of marketing resources, expertise or simply because there aren’t enough hours in the day,” Reginald Carter, senior partner at Carter/Sartain, an advertising agency involved in the project, said in the release.
