Oliver Chua introduced Le Jeune Cosmetiques, a luxurious makeup line that includes Le Jeune Minerals, cosmet ics infused with the opulence of 24karat gold microparticles, and delivered with the finest natural ingredients sourced from Japan, Switzerland and Germany. The line also includes Mineral BB Foun dations, Multipurpose Mineral Eye shadows, Mineral Lip Lacquer, Mineral Lip and Cheek Tint. QNET Receives CASE-DSAS Accreditation

Asian Direct Selling Company, QNET has received the CaseTrust Accreditation certificate under a scheme of joint accreditation between the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) and Direct Selling Association ofSingapore (DSAS).
This milestone accreditation marks QNET’s strict compliance with good business practices.
The accreditation scheme for direct selling businesses was launched in Singapore last Thursday where 13 other direct selling companies also received their accreditation certificates from Mr Lim Biow Chuan, President, Consumers Association of Singapore and Member of Parliament for Mountbatten SMC.
QNET’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Zaheer Merchant said consumers now have been given greater assurance especially with the oversight and independence in the processes and review which led up to the issuance of all certificates.
“Our commitment to Case and the DSAS sends a strong signal to consumers. QNET supported the establishment of this accreditation scheme with absolute commitment towards its stand for good and proper business practices within the industry,” added Zaheer.
Companies under the scheme have to give consumers a cooling-off period of seven working days, during which they can seek full refund of any payment without being penalized, produce an order form at the time of sale that clearly states the direct seller’s contact details, and put in place a well-defined system to address conflicts.
Accredited businesses are also governed by the DSAS Code of Ethics which ensures the practice of responsible and ethical selling. Further, companies comply with regulations which regular businesses are bound by, and have guarantees and warranties in place for Singapore.
Internal assessments will be conducted every two years, and an external audit every four years, to ensure compliance. The scheme was first mooted in July 2013 when both associations signed a memorandum of understanding to promote fair and ethical conduct in the direct selling industry and better protect consumers.
CASE and DSAS hope that the CaseTrust accreditation would better reassure consumers of direct sellers, as well as to encourage a set of best practices within the industry that rewards ethical business practices.

Singapore Launches An Accreditation Organization For Direct-Selling Companies

The Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) and the Direct Selling Association of Singapore (DSAS) on Thursday (Jan 8) announced the launch of their joint accreditation scheme, and more than 10 direct selling businesses have already been accredited.
Direct selling is a practice in which products are sold from no fixed location.
With the launch of the CaseTrust-DSAS Joint Accreditation Scheme, consumers can expect the following:
  • A cooling off period of seven working days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays), during which consumers may seek full refund of payment made
  • An order form at the time of sale, with clear and accurate contact details of the direct seller
  • A well-defined complaint mechanism put in place by the business to address disputes
Besides these, accredited businesses are governed by DSAS' Code of Ethics, which ensures all direct sellers within their distribution system practice responsible and ethical selling, the press release stated.
Companies must also comply with regulations that regular businesses are bound by, such as the Lemon Law, and detail the terms and conditions of any warranties and/or guarantees clearly.
These terms are on top of DSAS membership criteria, which require companies to at least be registered for a year with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority, undergo a six-month probation period where the DSAS committee will conduct investigations on business behaviour and credit ratings, submit a legal opinion on their marketing plans, and have no more than five breaches of the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act over the past year with CASE.
These practices will be checked in re-audits every four years after accreditation by a CaseTrust-appointed third-party auditor, with interim assessments conducted every two years. CASE and DSAS hope that the CaseTrust accreditation would better reassure consumers of direct sellers, as well as to encourage a set of best practices within the industry that rewards ethical business practices.

Mr Willie Chua, the managing director of Nikken Wellness Singapore, said: "The main complaints that might come in is always (for) refunds, or (about) damaged products. So the distributors or customers will get very frustrated if you do not have a specific policy … And there will be arguments between the two parties. But if we have this accreditation scheme in place, everything is (in) black and white."
CASE President Lim Biow Chuan added: "In the past, I think a consumer would struggle a little bit, because the consumer is wondering: 'I am only dealing with a DSAS company that has this code of conduct. How assured am I that I will be treated fairly and impartially by someone within their own organisation and own industry?'
"Consumers would then be given greater assurance that there is an independent CaseTrust organisation that is looking at the way they (direct sellers) conduct their business."

Big Plans For Herbalife: Opening $100 Million Plant And Planned Counter Attack Against Ackman

Fox Business Network’s (FBN) Charles Gasparino reports Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE:HLF) is planning a counter attack on Pershing Square Capital CEO Bill Ackman, following the cancellation of a meeting with Herbalife by Ackman. Gasparino reports, “people inside Herbalife are telling me that it could be legal,” possibly “a lawsuit about stock manipulation.”
On Herbalife planning a counter attack against Bill Ackman:
“They are planning some sort of counter attack. People inside Herbalife are telling me that it could be legal, clearly like a lawsuit about stock manipulation or something else. What they are saying is they are clearly going to do an attack.”
In other news: 
Herbalife Ltd. will officially unveil its $100 million manufacturing facility in Winston-Salem on Jan. 16, showing off the plant to the media and local elected officials.
The nutrition products company (NYSE: HLF) will hold an invitation-only grand opening of its 800,000-square-foot "Winston-Salem Manufacturing and Innovation Facility." Herbalife COO Rich Goudis, will attend, and Winston-Salem Mayor Allen Joines and Forsyth County Board of Commissioners Chairman David Plyler are expected to be there, too.
Herbalife officials said the facility currently employs about 350 and is expected to employ more than 500 by the end of the year.
The plant at 3200 Temple School Road is located at the former site of Dell Inc. Local and state officials approved $10 million of incentives in return for the creation of about 500 jobs by the end of 2015.

MLS Names Advocare As New Official Sports Nutrition Partner

Trina Mullins Finds Home & Success With Trévo

In 2010, Trina Mullins was working in an office, answering to other people, and never feeling like she had enough time to see her five children. The “corporate rat race”, as she puts it, was weighing heavily on her as she found herself constantly stressed out and worried about her family’s financial future. She also faced daily health issues, including a severe case of asthma that she’d suffered from her whole life.

As Javita completes its third full year of business, its annual sales are up more than 150%.
With consistent monthly increases in the numbers of new customers and new members, Javita's sales during 2014 more than doubled from the prior year.

Amway Buys California Energy Drink Company

Amway has acquired XS Energy, a California-based brand of energy drinks and snacks that has been successfully marketed through parties around the U.S. and Asia.
Neither the price or terms of the agreement were disclosed by the Ada-based direct-selling giant in announcing the deal on Wednesday, Jan. 14.
The acquisition of the brand is being described as a strategic move for Amway to leverage XS’ approach of connecting with young entrepreneurs.
Amway, which reported sales of $11.8 billion in 2013, makes Nutrilite vitamin supplements, Artistry cosmetics and eSpring water treatment systems that are sold through 3 million distributors around the world.
The XS Energy brand has been sold as an Amway product since 2003. It's now distributed in 38 countries, generating annual sales of $150 million. Available in a range of flavors, XS Energy is described by its makers as a sugar-free energy drink loaded with B-vitamins.
The brand’s YouTube videos shows co-founder David Vanderveen and others on stages at rave-inspired gatherings smirking for a camera and crowdsurfing like rock stars.
The parties are “lifestyle branding” which show that work and play can blend together.
Vanderveen will join Amway as vice president and general manager for the XS brand to provide his expertise about connecting with the under-35 crowd.
Before launching XS Energy in Southern California’s Laguna Beach, Vanderveen got his start as an Amway distributor 20 years ago. He credits the experience with giving him the confidence to develop his own product.
“I’m humbled to be partnering with Amway on the future of XS, and couldn’t be happier about the opportunities we’ll create for young entrepreneurs,” Vanderveen said in a statement.
What intrigues Amway leadership is that XS' growing customer base are Millennials, the same generation that is the most positive about entrepreneurship, according to the company’s research.
“Bringing Amway and XS together will strengthen our efforts in the years ahead and create more opportunities for aspiring business people,” CEO Steve Van Andel said in a statement.
In the past decade, Amway has found success with its events and lifestyle branding in key growth markets like Japan and North America, where half of the business owners registered in the past year are younger than 35.
Amway has always marketed its products through social gatherings hosted by distributors, but XS Energy takes that approach up a few notches.
The company says it has plans to infuse the rest of its portfolio with the energy, authenticity and customer experience that have made XS so successful, while maintaining its traditional focus on entrepreneurship.
This acquisition gives Amway a stake in the rapidly growing $27.5 billion energy drink segment — which is expected to grow annually by 13 percent until 2018, according to Euromonitor and Research and Markets.
